G.S.M = (EPI/warp count + PPI/Weft count) x (100+crimp %) X 0.2327
Examples:
Examples:
Suppose,
Construction of a
100% cotton poplin fabric is 40s X 40s / 133 X 72 (here, EPI=133 & PPI=72)
and warps and weft crimp is 6%.
G.S.M = (133/40 + 72/40)
X (100+6%) X 0.2327
=> G.S.M =126.414
=> G.S.M =126.414
N.B Here 0.2327 is multiplying factor for G.S.M
But someone use this formula with different multiplying
factors like …….G.S.M= ((EPI/warp count X 1.1) + (PPI/weft count x 1.04)) x 23.5
Where 1.1 and 1.04 are warp and weft crimp factors respectively.
